How often do you wash your towel? Some people wash once a week, while some, once a year. The towel is a fertile breeding ground for millions of microbes, especially those found on human skin and on the gut. The Government of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, is in deep trouble after Governors declared war against it over the latest move by the President to kill devolution. This is after Uhuru gave executive powers to County Commissioners and ordered them to take charge of their respective counties, a move that has rendered Governors jobless as far crucial functions in the counties are confirmed. The authority include chairing of crucial county Security Meetings and reporting directly to the President. Led by chair of the Governors Council, Isaac Rutto, the Governors warned of a revolution against Uhuru/ Ruto’s Government accusing Jubilee of plotting to kill devolution. Rutto said as Governors, they will never accept County Commissioners to chair security meetings in their Counties because that is their work. “Giving County Commissioners powers to chair security meetings is against the law and we do not support such a move”, said Rutto. The Bomet Governor trashed Uhuru’s orders as roadside declarations, which have no place in the 21stcentury. “Days of the executive giving orders and powers via roadside declarations are long gone. We will move to court as the law must be respected”, he said. He renewed calls for a national referendum to strengthen County Governments. The Kenyan DAILY POST
