How often do you wash your towel? Some people wash once a week, while some, once a year. The towel is a fertile breeding ground for millions of microbes, especially those found on human skin and on the gut. No wonder the towel is one of the objects that facilitate fecal-oral contamination (literally connecting the two ends of the gut). Worse still, most people keep towels in the bathroom (near the toilet). Every flush of the toilet sends mist with millions of microbes, ranging from H.pylori, salmonella and other deadly bacteria and viruses. When you wash your hands ready for a meal, and dry them with your body towel, there's high chance you are directly ingesting your fecal matter, or, if in a shared lavatory, someone else's faeces. Unless cleaned well, viruses such as human papillomavirus (causes warts, anal cancer and cervical cancer) can be transmitted when towels are shared with infected individuals. So, what to do? 1. Launder towels once a week. 2. Use hot water and det...
Kenya is weeping not because of its current occupants, but because of the wrong principles it was founded on
raila.pngIn his famous quotes, former Germany chancellor and NAZI leader Adolf Hitler once proffered that “By the skillful and sustained use of propaganda, one can make people see even heaven as hell or, an extremely wretched hell as paradise” It is absurd to see poor Kenyans hoodwinked by their tribal chiefs to believe that they are living in paradise yet they go dinnerless and lunchless. My brothers and sisters of this great land of exceptional talents, the home of adeptly incomparable athletes; the ancestral land of outstanding world icons, I greet you all.Fellow Kenyans, what I am writing here today is not burlesque, it is genuine and unadulterated. It is hate-free and it concerns you and me, yes; it concerns the all of us. Our country is bleeding not because of its current occupants, but because of the wrong principles it was founded on. I know and understand that to the countless inconsolable enemies of democracy, this is ugly stuff. This is ugly stuff that the haters of free speech will seem to always subtly downplay or strenuously whitewash. Currently, Our President and his deputy are eliding their troubling tribal politics whenever they go public more so when the sound waves of the word “National dialogue” happens to pay their eardrums an impromptu visit. Poor Kenyans countenance the fact that the president is an unimpeachably great tribal icon because he is safeguarded by the tyranny of tribal crackpots. Unarguably, members of every nook and cranny of this world knows categorically that Uhuru Kenyatta’s presidency was acquired at the expense of falsehood, bribery, authoritarianism, impunity and false certification. The certification that not only does no good, but also weakens people’s grasp on the truth especially on the 50 1% drama. That, IEBC can ideally explicate. Kenyans have been abandoned by their greedy leaders. Their dreams are no longer valid because they have since been transformed into pitiful nightmares. The president no longer cares about us. We are all suffering together, Kikuyus, Kisiis, Luhyias, Kambas, Luos, Turkanas, Mijikendas just to mention but a few. That is why we need a ‘Moses’ to get us out of the ‘Egypt’ we are in. Raila Odinga might be politically obsolete, but, his message is as fresh as a daisy. Fellow Kenyans, let us not judge a book by looking at its cover because not all that glistens is gold. The Agenda items that Raila has are beneficial to all of us. Let us say no to the skyrocketing of prices of basic commodities. Let us stop pretending that all is well because the president is our own.Albert Nyakundi Amenya, Chief Banana Pedlar from the County of Bosongo/Kisii.
