MEN BEWARE: 7 FOODS YOU EAT THAT CAN KILL YOUR TESTOSTERONE LEVEL

It could be said that the masculinity of a man is dependent on his testosterone level. Testosterone which is primarily produced in the testicles plays a major role in a man’s sex drive; it helps in the muscle strength, even distribution of fat as well as maintenance of strong bones, and energy levels in general.
In general, men and women produce testosterone, but the testosterone level in men is about five times higher than a woman.
Research has shown that a man’s testosterone level begins to peak in adolescent age and begins to decline gradually just after 30, without about 1 percent rate each year.
Research has also shown that a low testosterone level could cause reduced muscle and strength function, loss of concentration, insomnia, lower sexual function and even depression. This means we must take our testosterone levels serious fellas.
7 foods that can kill a man’s testosterone level
1. FOODS HIGH IN SUGAR AND FATS
Generally, these aren’t good for a man’s health, but worse still, they can affect his testosterone level negatively. Foods high in these can lead to blocked artery walls and this could prevent blood from flowing to the genitals.
2. HEAVY ALCOHOL INTAKE
I’m sure this is one men hate to hear, but it’s the bitter truth. High alcohol intake would dampen your testosterone level. High intake in general can cause erectile difficulties and premature ejaculation. As you gulp down large volumes of alcohol and your liver processes it, it produces compounds that restrain the release of testosterone, which will in turn reduce the overall testosterone level in your body.
3. MINT
Yea, your head tells you that to kill off a bad odour you need some mint; sorry to burst your bubbles, but the menthol in mints wouldn’t do any good to your testosterone level. The menthol in mint is found to lower testosterone levels, meaning you have to find a better way to kill those bad odours.
4. CHEESE
Cheese is also found not to be testosterone friendly; it has a potential to mess with your body’s natural hormone production which includes your testosterone level and in women, the estrogen level.
5. CORN FLAKES
You would hardly see one who doesn’t love the crunchy taste of corn flakes, but it has its diminishing effect on testosterone level too. John Harvey Kellogg first invented corn flakes and it is believed that he was a strong advocate of sexual abstinence, so he produced corn flakes with the aim to suppress libido.
6. LOW FAT DIET
The first tip points that high fat diet can kill your testosterone level, but that doesn’t mean a low fat diet would do any better. Researchers at UCLA found that men who greatly reduced their fat intake and lowered their fibre intake from their baseline diet had a 12 percent decrease in testosterone level.
7. EXCESS CONSUMPTION OF FOOD
Too much food intake wouldn’t do your testosterone level any good deal. Consumption of food in excess can lead to weight gain and this would kill your testosterone level especially if excess food intake is matched with little or no exercising.
This post shouldn’t just concern the men, as it can affect the woman in the sense that when her man’s testosterone level is weakened, there would be loads of “not tonight honey”, “I’m just so tired sweetie”.
A man’s testosterone level affects his sexual desire; a depleted testosterone level would mean a depleted sexual experience too.[/a]
