The late Fidel Odinga's wife, Lwam Getachew Bekele's speech at the requiem mass held at All Saints Cathedral on Thursday was perhaps one of the most moving messages during the whole ceremony. After speeches by many dignitaries, friends and relatives, Bekel was called upon to say a few words. After her very brief speech mourners were left shading tears. Your generous spirit will go a long way…you melted my heart with your kindness. The swiftness of your departure remains shocking to me. But I cannot question God. Till we meet again my love my husband."
