How often do you wash your towel? Some people wash once a week, while some, once a year. The towel is a fertile breeding ground for millions of microbes, especially those found on human skin and on the gut. No wonder the towel is one of the objects that facilitate fecal-oral contamination (literally connecting the two ends of the gut). Meru Governor Peter Munya has said that he will not defend his seat on a Jubilee ticket saying the party already favours his rival, Senator Kiraitu Murungi.
Speaking during the 53 Madaraka Day celebrations at the Meru Polytechnic, Munya said that, though he still supports President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto in their reelection bid.
He also hit out at Kiraitu for allegedly running a smear campaign against him saying the Meru Senator has no capacity to lead the county.
Munya said that his re-election to chair the Council of Governors shows their confidence in him due to his dedication to the council adding that he intends to replicate the same to the county.
The Governor further noted that his ambition to run for president in 2022 is still on adding that he has the potential to lead Kenya to the path of success.
“Kiraitu has tried to be in many top government positions like Majority Leader in the Senate to no success. My re-election to chair the Council of Governors just shows that I am in line for the top job in 2022.”
Munya and Kiraitu have been at loggerheads after the Governor announced his opposition to the dissolution of parties other Jubilee coalition affiliate parties to form one Jubilee Party.
The Senator has accused Munya of slagging in initiating development projects in the county saying he would rival the Governor for the county’s top seat.
