Embracing Your Divine Design: Celebrating the Best Version of You

In the grand tapestry of creation, you are a masterpiece, woven with threads of divine intention. `As Genesis 1:27 reminds us, "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them."`  This profound truth underscores our inherent value and the unique reflection of the Creator within each of us.

Yet, despite bearing this divine likeness, we often find ourselves anchored, navigating the tumultuous seas of worldly desires and comparisons. The English idiom aptly states, *_"If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck."_* While we may resemble the Divine, our actions and choices sometimes diverge from this sacred image.

Life's challenges and tribulations are not indicators of divine displeasure but are akin to the refining fire that purifies gold. `As 1 Peter 1:7 elucidates, these trials "have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold...may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed."` Embracing these moments molds us into our finest selves.

In our journey, it's easy to don the garments of others' expectations, losing ourselves in the process. Yet, as the adage advises, "Cut your coat according to your cloth." Your life is uniquely yours, unparalleled and irreplaceable. `Psalm 139:14 declares, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;` your works are wonderful, I know that full well."  Recognizing this truth fosters self-contentment and diminishes the urge for comparison.

Societal norms often dictate arbitrary standards—be it the number of children one should have, the complexion of one's skin, or other superficial metrics. However, `Romans 12:2 urges us, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."`  True fulfillment emanates from inner conviction, not external validation.

Consider the story of David, a shepherd boy overlooked by many, yet chosen by God to be king. His journey wasn't defined by societal expectations but by a heart aligned with divine purpose. Similarly, your path is not mandated by societal scripts but by the unique calling placed within you.

In conclusion, embrace the unparalleled individual that you are. `Philippians 4:11-13 teaches us the secret of being content in any and every situation.`  Your worth isn't measured by external accolades but by the intrinsic value bestowed upon you by your Creator. Celebrate yourself, for you are, indeed, THE BEST VERSION TO  EVER LIVE.

Take care of yourself__"The first wealth is health".

By Strive Masiyiwa  A few weeks ago I went to the doctor. I will tell you what he said about my health at the end, but first read this: Twenty years ago, I arranged to meet a well-known British international businessman who invested a lot in Africa at the time. We agreed to meet for dinner at a leading hotel in London.  After a good meeting, we started to walk out of the restaurant when he suddenly collapsed in the lobby. There was total pandemonium as they rushed to get medical assistance. Being London, an ambulance arrived in minutes. I jumped in the back with him as paramedics wrestled to keep him alive. He had had a heart attack and had to have triple bypass heart surgery. Sadly he died a few weeks later. He hadn't been sick and his sudden death surprised everyone. And yet as I reflected on it, and later discussed it with a doctor friend who knew him, I realized he was very laid back about his health despite having a hectic business life. Even during our dinner...
