Bearing flags of Kenya and Africa Union, Raila Odinga attended his first meeting as High Representative for Infrastructural Development in Kenyan soil on Tuesday.

Since his appointment in October 20th, Raila has only visited Ethiopia, South Africa and Zimbabwe in that capacity.

But on Tuesday, Raila's immense powers and influence was manifested through tough security team guarding him besides reception by AU commission chairman Moussa Faki.

He said: "Joined other leaders at the second day of the first Global Sustainable #BlueEconomyConference taking place at the KICC in Nairobi."https://twitter.com/RailaOdinga/status/1067335967504240640?s=19.

"I visited exhibition stands at the Blue Economy Conference together with H.E President @UKenyatta and also had a chance to meet President Danny Faure of Seychelles."https://twitter.com/RailaOdinga/status/1067384833645715456?s=19.

As a Pan-Africanist, Mr Odinga is accorded state reception lately whenever he visits foreign states, another indicator of his strong influence.

Since his handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta on March this year, Odinga is a regular visitor at State House with his latest trip coming last week when Mozambique President Filipe Nyusi visited.

He had had a heart attack and had to have triple bypass heart surgery. Sadly he died a few weeks later. He hadn't been sick and his sudden death surprised everyone. And yet as I reflected on it, and later discussed it with a doctor friend who knew him, I realized he was very laid back about his health despite having a hectic business life. Even during our dinner...
