Parents of a sixteen year old boy from Mahoma village in Bunyala south location in Busia County are calling for help so that their son who has a head complication access medication. According to,the father, Mr. Chrispinus Adundo and Mrs. Wilikister Mukudi Adundo, the mother, say their son John Bwire Adundo’s problem started last year when he was in form two at Kericho High school where the principal called them togo and take him to hospital as he was seriously ill “When I went there, the boy was very sick and his clothes had blood strains which they said he was injured after falling down,” explained the father. Mr. Adundo says the son told him that he saw a vision in the evening while he was going to sleep in his dormitory upstairs, “The boy told me when he was climbing the stairs to go and sleep when he saw in a vision a form one boy carrying a basin of water standing on his way but he didn’t have a human face. My son called Jesus two times and the student in vision dropped the basin and disappeared miraculously.” From there he lost his senses and started running in the whole school compound like a mad man and that is when the other students ran before him and captured him. When he was brought home, his problem escalated to an extend that he started eating food together with papers, became unfriendly to everyone in the home and could vanish from home only to be found sitting near river Nzoia which is one hundred meters away from the home. The parents made efforts to seek medical attention at Agha Khan Medical centre in Busia, Nyanza General Hospital and at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret where the boy was operated and came back to normalcy. However, a few days later, two boils developed on his head and burst into a big wound which discharge white fluids, “Sometimes the wound release maggots which again disappear after some time,” explains the mother. The disease has left the family in abject poverty after using a lot of resources to treat him, “I have borrowed loans from the bank to treat the boy until now I get no salary after the deductions,” says the father who is a teacher at Budala primary school in Bunyala south. This is made worse by the fact that he has other children to look after, “One of my daughters has done form four this year, one is going to form two, another has finished standard eight and will be joining form one next year and yet another one is in standard six going to standard seven next year.” He described the boy as a genius having emerged position one in 2011 KCPE at Lugale primary with 351 marks before he joined Kericho High School where he continued with the trend, “Since he joined form one at the school, he has never gone below position three and he performs excellently even in French subject,” stated the father. The boy also escaped death narrowly when he was involved in a fire incident at their home when he was one month and three weeks old, “We had left him sleeping on a matteress in the house with an oil lamp near him. Unfortunately the matteress caught fire and it burnt his left hand ear and the fingers on the left hand. We rushed him to Kakamega hospital where he was hospitalized for three months and treated until he healed before he was discharged,” explained the mother. The family which is going through hard times, is calling on Busia County government, national government and other well wishers to come to the aid of their son and raise money to enable him be operated, “At night we don’t sleep, we just look after him as he struggle in pain. Right now he cannot talk or eat due to the sickness and we are praying for him all the time. We ask for help from the government and other well wishers to come and help us take him to Kenyatta in Nairobi or Mulago in Kampala Uganda for specialized treatment.” The family can be accessed through telephone number 0714681248
