When Life Gives You Lemons-50 Interesting Uses

Lets talk a little bit about Lemons here…other than the fact that I LOVE LEMONS they have been used for ages for all kinds of things and by things I mean not just eating them. Consuming lemons and even their peels can be very beneficial to your health (unless you have allergies to them and in that case you should steer clear).  Lemons are high in vitamin C, they are full of antioxidants and have anti-inflammatory properties. It is even said that Lemons (their skins) have anti-cancer properties due to the limonene. It is also rumored that Limonoid found in lemons may even lower cholesterol. It’s no wonder why lemons are so popular!
I actually have a bit of a guilty pleasure with eating lemons…my mouth is seriously salivating while I write this but they are so delicious. The acidic nature of lemons is probably bad for my teeth which is why I now eat them in moderation. Don’t get me wrong I still use them daily for juices and lemon water etc. but I don’t just flat out eat them all the time. When I used to work a 8-5 job a few years back a friend and I both loved lemons so much that we would bring them to work and eat them at our desks. We got some really interesting “what on earth are you doing?” looks from people but aside from all of the comments and looks we kept on eating our lemons! My friend ate them with salt and kind of got me addicted to cutting lemons in small slivers, sprinkling salt on top then eating the slices. Oh wow does that sound amazing! You probably think I’m a total weirdo by now…anyway aside from devouring lemons there are plenty of great ways to use them.
