Interesting things to know about the towel

How often do you wash your towel? Some people wash once a week, while some, once a year. The towel is a fertile breeding ground for millions of microbes, especially those found on human skin and on the gut.  No wonder the towel is one of the objects that facilitate fecal-oral contamination (literally connecting the two ends of the gut).  Worse still, most people keep towels in the bathroom (near the toilet). Every flush of the toilet sends mist with millions of microbes, ranging from H.pylori,  salmonella and other deadly bacteria and viruses. BREAKING NEWS:Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru resigns

ruto-and-waiguru.jpg Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru has stepped aside to pave way for investigations into corruption allegations at the National Youth Service (NYS). Addressing the press on Saturday, Waiguru expressed her regrets over mistakes made by officials at the NYS, Huduma Centre and her ministry which she said have led to attack on her personal values and her children. She said the events of the last few months concerning the misappropriation of Sh791million shillings at the NYS have had a devastating impact on her health and she has been advised by her doctor to take on lighter duties. Waiguru has been under pressure to resign following allegations of corruption at the National Youth Service which led to the alleged loss of Sh791 million. Waiguru’s resignation comes barely a week after the National Youth Service (NYS) Director General Nelson Githinji stepped aside, just hours after Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko ordered for his prosecution over allegations of fraud, alongside Devolution Permanent Secretary Peter Mangiti. In a statement sent to media houses last Monday, Githinji said he had decided to step aside in order to allow him to focus on protecting his “long record of selfless public service”. The devolution ministry has been on the receiving end for months over allegations of corruption and financial misappropriation.
