Kenyans have been urged to be extra careful to avoid crowded places and to report any suspicious looking persons following reports that Al-Shabaab terrorists were planning to strike Kenya on 21stof September during the commemoration of last year’s Westgate Mall terror attack that left 70 people dead and scores injured. Credible sources within intel circles say that Al-Shabaab plan to use the day to cause more bloodshed and damage to revenge the death of their leader, Ahmed Godane, who was killed last week in a US airstrike in Somalia. “They are known to use such occasions to cause more injury and sufferings and we urge Kenyans not to ignore the Intel because it is credible. But we are prepared for them,” said Nicholas Kamwende, the Nairobi CID boss. “We are doing our best and we have enough personnel to counter them,” he added. Al-Shabaab have vowed to kill as many Americans as possible be it in Kenya or in the US for killing their leader and as such, their attacks may be targeted on US installations and interests in East Africa.
