I trust all my beloved county compatriots & all class citizens are as pregnant as I am to reap from the fruits of devolution. More pregnant because the governor Peter Munya has been on a campaign spree in support of pesa mashinani. In simple terms more money to his county basket. I believe that should be based on factors of productions & the drawn masterpiece for development not greed to have more money near there coffers & massage there egos! Well, that's understandable but the more we seek the more responsible we must be. The more we trap waters the more we should expect on strengthening the banks of our dams! Meru is a very important point in the history of Kenya. Its one county that has almost all the basic factors of production & an active human labour resource. With adequate scholars too. Mine is an observation. Do we really need more money with the current system of management? The question is subject to the court of public opinion as the law courts are proving complex!
- (A)we have the Bulls project thats was total fraud orchestrated by a few individuals in a get quick-rich scheme! The bulls project drained a large sum of money from the taxpayers coffers. - can we have an audit? -can we know the progress of the project -its sustainability & impact on the meru farming fraternity?
- (B) we have a system that has highly been a burning issue, the issue of a county being ran by a few "members" them who follow, dine & get all county tenders. Some marred by serious corruption & overpricing. - can we get an audit of ; the borehole drilling equipment that Makasi Martin calls useless junk & I too agree. -can we have a vivid picture of how much was used In the cabro-upgrading of the Nevada -equity bank makutano road? -can we get the figures used in upgrading the stages?
- (C) the uproar on selected jobs being given to selected people. -I just finished reading a blog from Mutwiri Kenneth on how a certain qualified job seeker was turned down for a relative to be employed. -by the way who is the county revenue officer? Your answer is as good as mine. -How much revenue is collected for Meru county? Accountability & transparency? - I read that one minister who was completely unqualified for his designated job was moved to another docket. Why not fire her instead of playing candy crush with the people & resources of Meru?
- (D) There is the issue of land. I read malice. I read serious fraud. Not because munya bought a coffee house in the U.k as factually given by Mwirigi Lg. No but because we have the issue of lapset. -Its naked the county is working on a scheme that has been learnt from lamu county. Not forgetting Muthaura is the lapset chairman. - Have you heard this Nyambene hot air tale? I saw Mwenda Thiribi put a very good explanation to it. -Does munya & cronies think we are dunder heads or warthogs to forget in seconds? They are the same guys who called a meeting at serena with front runners being Muthaura, Kiraitu & Munya. -The shares hotel at meru National park will be a private scandal. Worse than tritton. Why should it be run on county gears & resources? -why are we "preserving land" in the name of conservatories & reserves in what is a clear scheme of registering them to individuals & selling them to lapset at Supee prices? Charles Kinoti Akwalu Nelee Kirujah is it not a script worse than that of Lamu?
- (E) There was the story about a meru talent academy. How much was used & what has it achieved. KamaNu KamaNu Murega Baichu Wicky Colonel Pamela Kinya Ntongai do you see its fruits. Even one? Or we are launching Pr products! Well, already im seeing raised voices. There is the ongoing court case against the community conservatory that Munya launched the other day. -many more court cases are coming because it is "Meru County Government" Not "Munya county Government" - We cannot sit still and see a few individuals milk dry our coffers hoodwinking us with decorated towns. We can have all beautiful stages, probase malysian roads, many facebook photos but that will never change the economic status of the conmon man. It will only enrich the brokers, contractors & willy dealers working with those in power. As a county we need to question alot of things.
- -Has the 30% procurement rule been adhered to as a preserve for special groups [youth,disabled & women]
- -Before Munya sings the referendum song of "pesa mashinani" let him first account for what is in his laps.
- -As patriotic citizens our duty is to fight against any oppression by the government of the day!
