By Dikembe Disembe It has not taken four days after I made a post warning that the kikuyu anywhere should be the last person to wear that ‘we are in government’ jingoistic pride and cheer us Luos are threatened out of Naivasha. I am still waiting for reports of Kikuyus leaving Kisumu en masse…any out there? Anyway, as I observed in my earlier post (and as usual they accused me of fanning ethnic hatred) more conflicts will pit the Kikuyu against other tribes with Luos being the least. So I really don’t care. The more you think the Luo bogeyman – including me – is the problem, the more a Mr. Kang’ethe is UNCONSCIOUS in hospital with a gunshot and 20 others dead. It doesn’t matter that the the President of Lamu West constituency is a Kikuyu, the MP is a Kikuyu and the county commissioner is a Kikuyu. In fact, there are more Kikuyus in that area’s security command structure than they are in heaven. Sounds sadistic but sounds very true. I really don’t care. Peace without accountability is false peace. Peace with pride and arrogance is false peace. Peace with an eye only fixed at defeating Raila Odinga and CORD is FALSE PEACE. I really don’t care. Whether you recruit the Pope of Vatican or the Arch-bishop of the AIC. Whether the SDAs join you in religious rally at Uhuru Park. Whether your so called ‘business community’ come to your ‘we want investment-friendly atmosphere’ hogwash defence. Whether the media calls it ‘fresh attacks’ or ‘new attacks’ or whatever. . .so long as your PEACE is fixed at DEFEATING Raila Odinga and CORD, so long as you’re still so cheap as to think the problem is the Luo bogeyman – including me – there are still going to be ,’fresh attacks’ and ‘new casualties’ in places where the Luo bogeyman isn’t resident. That’s because the Luo bogeyman isn’tin charge of your security and that of your mother. Just so you don’t forget, people like me are still going to openly MOCK your security system and your ‘legitimately elected’ government. We are still going to make you catch hell and swear in your mother’s name how you hate me because correcting your warped, twisted, shallow and pathetic feelings of ‘self-worth’ and ‘ethnic importance’ is our call. I relish in telling you to shut the ‘f’ up and hear it: we are in this together. This bitter, vindictive, exclusionist Jubilee government – we are in it together. ole.png
By Strive Masiyiwa A few weeks ago I went to the doctor. I will tell you what he said about my health at the end, but first read this: Twenty years ago, I arranged to meet a well-known British international businessman who invested a lot in Africa at the time. We agreed to meet for dinner at a leading hotel in London. After a good meeting, we started to walk out of the restaurant when he suddenly collapsed in the lobby. There was total pandemonium as they rushed to get medical assistance. Being London, an ambulance arrived in minutes. I jumped in the back with him as paramedics wrestled to keep him alive. He had had a heart attack and had to have triple bypass heart surgery. Sadly he died a few weeks later. He hadn't been sick and his sudden death surprised everyone. And yet as I reflected on it, and later discussed it with a doctor friend who knew him, I realized he was very laid back about his health despite having a hectic business life. Even during our dinner...
