By Dr Paul Bundi Human beings are endowed with remarkable resilience, which can only be broken when they choose to give up. Says Viktor Frankl in his seminal book, Man's Search for Meaning; ''it is a peculiarity of man that he can only live by looking to the future-sub specie aeternitatis. And this is his salvation in thd most difficult moments of his existence, although he sometimes has to force his mind to the task.'' Man's life is primarily driven by the desire for future, the unshakable belief that the future holds promise. We invariably cease to live when we think we have hit a dead end, or that there's nothing more to be had by living. Theoretically, there is no limit to man's achievement, and that is what drives men to wake up and strive day after day. The opposite is spiritual, psychological death, which manifests way ahead of physical death. Lesson? Losing today doesn't mean losing always. You can lose 10 times and win the 11th time. Or, you
6120-11-628x400.png By Geoffrey Wainaina I’m one of those who are not concerned at all by CORD’s empty threats to Jubilee government. You see they are using words like revolution, Kungoa serkali, wataona chamtema kuni as if they are referring to boys contests in those village football matches… I have said this in the past and I will repeat it….again Uhuru Kenyatta is not Mwai Kibaki. Statistically for an opposition party to carry out a successful revolution they must have Three things in their favor. 1. Numbers Support in government, in Parliament and by the Public. 2. Populace Serious disaffection with the government. 3.Military support by majority. On all the three accounts CORD’s revolution talk have snowball chance in hell. They do not have the numbers, as a Matter of fact Many leaders in Ukambani are coming out by the day to distance themselves from the Planned criminality. The only public support Odinga is assured of is that of the hopelessly sycophantic Luo nation. The rest of the sober public is wondering what CORD is smoking. The Military is firmly behind their commander in Chief. Unknown to many Kenyans many within the Kenyan Military ranks have vowed never to recognize a Man who infiltrated their ranks in 1982 and made so many of their colleagues lose their lives. … Having said that Let me say its not beyond Raila Odinga to attempt a Criminal act even with Zero Chances of success. He has tried it in the Past, He knows he has a Completely idle, sycophantic supporters to Fight his cause. And that’s where my concern is…the young energetic youths who waste their lives fighting individual greedy causes….. Raila Odinga know’s that many have fought and died for him, and he encourages them with these words during their funerals with his hand raised up’ ‘The tree of freedom is watered with human blood’ And the crowds in the Funerals clap, and the deceased families are promised goodies once Raila takes over, and life goes on, and Raila Odinga remains the opposition King Pin…. and he never takes over but he has to show you that one day he will take over, and so he remains relevant, and you continue fighting for him not for yourself; not for your family but for one man to become President by whichever means, and before you know it the People you finished college with are building their own homes, their kids are going to good schools, their Lives and your life are a Sharp painful Contrast, and Raila Odinga will console you, “you are poor bacause of the Okuyus, they have taken everything!” yes they will have taken everything working hard for it, and then at his sunset years in 2030 you will hear Raila Odinga in your Radio (because you cannot even afford a TV) begging President William Ruto and his exact word are “Mimi nimepigania hii kiti kwa Miaka mingi …. naomba Rais Ruto anikubali nikalie hiyo kiti kwa Sekunde mbili tu alafu niondoke” and then your mind will flash back to Jaramogi Odinga using the same begging words to Mzee Moi in the 90′s. Its then that it will dawn on you that all along you have been fighting the wrong battles. But it will be to late….. Source jackal news.
