President Uhuru Takes An Early Lead in 2017 Presidential Polls as He Continues To Consolidate His Position.

th-31.jpg Despite a lot of hatred and ill-feeling towards the current president, Uhuru Kenyatta, a private survey has declared that he is still the front runner for presidency in 2017 far ahead of his rival Raila Odinga. Uhuru Kenyatta has continued to consolidate his political base while Raila’s base is slowly disintegrating. Even in his home backyard, nondescript individuals like Kidero are slowly eating into his domain. Kidero recently conducted a harambee for some schools in Kisumu, at which harambee the citizens indicated that they would back him for presidency in 2017.Progressive minds in opposition CORD especially those in Wiper Democratic Movement, have come out strongly opposing the attempt of the ODM leader to run for the presidency again. Old Odinga who is lost the elections has consistently given signs of having not got enough of the thrashing he got on the ballot and in the Supreme Court. Quite recently Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar reacted with fury over ongoing plans by a section of old guards in CORD, majority being Nyanza MPs and Senators to make Raila Odinga a life presidential candidate. “We shall not follow you blindly. We are called the swing counties, but we will only swing to those who reciprocate. We are consolidating our political constituency and we want equal benefits commensurate to the level of input we deliver,” he told Odinga, adding that Coast no longer offered “free lunches or free rides”. Opposition CORD is embroiled in party wrangles which has led to the suspension of naming their much anticipated shadow cabinet and which also led to the recent fiasco at Kasarani which saw black suited men disrupt the elections. The other parties, especially Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper Party and Ford Kenya under former Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula are rebelling ODM’s known hooliganism whenever power is to be shared. CORD Leadership faces a major fall-out in Mombasa!! If truth be told, whereas It is true that the democratically elected Governor is H.E Ali Hassan Joho of ODM, former Vice-President & Wiper Party Leader Mr.Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has a soft spot for Mr.Suleima Shahabal, the Wiper Party flag bearer who has on many occassations disputed Mr.Joho’s win. Though CORD comprises majorly of ODM & Wiper parties as senior partners, ODM dominates vertually on all appointments within the County Governement leadership positions.A trip by Mr.Kalonzo over the weekend left his Wiper leutinants at pains giving verbal quiting notice if they are note accomodated as equals on the County administration. This is NOT what Governor Joho will be willing to discuss at any level!! And with Kalonzo having left without giving any solution, your guess is as good as mine.Mombasa County has 6 Constituencies with Wiper controlling 2. Before the Jubilee Administration under President Uhuru Kenyatta & Mr.William Ruto swallows in a big way the remaining 4 using the help of firebrand Sanator Hassan Omar Sarai, can the CORD leader Raila Odinga urgently put his house in order!!!!? On Matters Mombasa County, is Mr.Raila & Mr.Kalonzo reading from the same script???

Take care of yourself__"The first wealth is health".

By Strive Masiyiwa  A few weeks ago I went to the doctor. I will tell you what he said about my health at the end, but first read this: Twenty years ago, I arranged to meet a well-known British international businessman who invested a lot in Africa at the time. We agreed to meet for dinner at a leading hotel in London.  After a good meeting, we started to walk out of the restaurant when he suddenly collapsed in the lobby. There was total pandemonium as they rushed to get medical assistance. Being London, an ambulance arrived in minutes. I jumped in the back with him as paramedics wrestled to keep him alive. He had had a heart attack and had to have triple bypass heart surgery. Sadly he died a few weeks later. He hadn't been sick and his sudden death surprised everyone. And yet as I reflected on it, and later discussed it with a doctor friend who knew him, I realized he was very laid back about his health despite having a hectic business life. Even during our dinner...
