Interesting things to know about the towel

How often do you wash your towel? Some people wash once a week, while some, once a year. The towel is a fertile breeding ground for millions of microbes, especially those found on human skin and on the gut.  No wonder the towel is one of the objects that facilitate fecal-oral contamination (literally connecting the two ends of the gut).  Worse still, most people keep towels in the bathroom (near the toilet). Every flush of the toilet sends mist with millions of microbes, ranging from H.pylori,  salmonella and other deadly bacteria and viruses. When you wash your hands ready for a meal, and dry them with your body towel, there's high chance you are directly ingesting your fecal matter, or, if in a shared lavatory, someone else's faeces. Unless cleaned well, viruses such as human papillomavirus (causes warts, anal cancer and cervical cancer) can be transmitted when towels are shared with infected individuals. So, what to do? 1. Launder towels once a week. 2. Use hot water and det...

TOP 6 MISTAKES THAT COULD MAKE YOU LOSE YOUR JOB

There are a thousand other people that will want your job the minute you lose it, and the irony is people get to make thousands of mistakes on the job, and the worst part is many employees don’t even care.
Employers know that mistakes are inevitable in the workplace but they want the mistake factor to be minimised as much as possible and there are mistakes that wouldn’t even be condoned in a workplace.
These are some top mistakes that could get you fired:
1. DISOBEYING OFFICE RULES
Every organisation has rules and regulations, as well as ethics you should abide by. Unfortunately, many employees take this lightly after a long stay in that organisation. In an organisation where they take office rules and regulations serious, you could find yourself on the receiving end someday.
2. HAVING A FIGHT/QUARREL
No boss wants to walk into the workplace and see his staff having a fight or quarrel. Who’s at fault doesn’t matter; such an act is unethical and barbaric to say the least, and it doesn’t put the firm in good light. You could lose your job for this singular act.
3. DISOBEYING YOUR SUPERIORS
Respect to leadership is very important and there are various forms of leadership in the workplace. Because your immediate superior isn’t among the chiefs in the workplace doesn’t mean you should disregard his/her authority. If that person reports you to management, you might lose your job.
4. NONCHALANCE
Nonchalance in the workplace is a 21st century problem many bosses frown at. Coming to work late, unnecessary chatter, using working hours for your private matters and other forms of nonchalance can get you fired. Your superiors are taking note, and a lot of people don’t get promoted because of this.
5. ABUSING OFFICE FUNDS/ITEMS
No matter how tempting it might be, never use office funds or items for your personal activities. Some even go as far as selling office items; this is theft and you could even get arrested for it. Why don’t you maintain your integrity and do what’s right?
6. TREATING A CUSTOMER WRONGLY
In a firm where you deal directly with your customers, extra care should be taken when handling a customer. No right thinking organisation want to lose a customer, so if you err on this side, your job might be at risk.
“Anything you find yourself doing, it’s expedient you do it well. Remember the great Martin Luther King Jr. quote: “If a man is called to be a streetsweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause and say, here lived a great streetsweeper who did his job well.”
These mistakes above could get you  fired.
