Interesting things to know about the towel

How often do you wash your towel? Some people wash once a week, while some, once a year. The towel is a fertile breeding ground for millions of microbes, especially those found on human skin and on the gut.  No wonder the towel is one of the objects that facilitate fecal-oral contamination (literally connecting the two ends of the gut).  Worse still, most people keep towels in the bathroom (near the toilet). Every flush of the toilet sends mist with millions of microbes, ranging from H.pylori,  salmonella and other deadly bacteria and viruses. When you wash your hands ready for a meal, and dry them with your body towel, there's high chance you are directly ingesting your fecal matter, or, if in a shared lavatory, someone else's faeces. Unless cleaned well, viruses such as human papillomavirus (causes warts, anal cancer and cervical cancer) can be transmitted when towels are shared with infected individuals. So, what to do? 1. Launder towels once a week. 2. Use hot water and det...

How To Deal With The Controversial Electoral Law

The ruling jubilee party is pushing for amendments of an earlier negotiated electoral law, which states that voter identification and results transmission should be solely electronic. The jubilee coalition want to amend this law to allow the electoral  body to use manual system in places where electronic system fails. There is much opposition  mostly from the opposition coalition which now claims this will be used an avenue for rigging in favour of the incumbent.
In my own opinion, having a print out of voter register as a backup, only to be used to identify legible voters in places where biometric devices fails. This  can't in any way be used as an avenue for rigging since  the voting will be six piece and no candidate even from jubilee strongholds contesting for any seat either in county or national assembly  can allow dead or unregistered people vote.
The truth of the matter is that the manipulation of votes can only happen after winners of other seats apart from the presidency are declared.Meaning rigging can only happen during transmission of presidential results.
The opposition should push for a tamper proof results transmission electronic system. Which will transmit presidential vote directly from the polling station to national tallying centre. This process should be time bound, it should be put on law that presidential votes should be given the priority i.e. first to be counted and transmitted not late than six hours from the time of polling station closure. If this is achieved then Kenya will have a credible elections.Voter identification and votes counting may be manual but not results transmission.
