ITS UNCONSTITUTIONAL FOR EMBU SENATOR LENNY KIVUTI TO CLAIM THAT MOUNT KENYA REGION WONT VOTE FOR REFERENDUM

Embu Senator Lenny Kivuti has told CORDleaders seeking signatures to push for a referendum to keep off Mt.Kenya region. Kivuti said the entire region had already agreed not to support the move as the campaigns would interrupt ongoing development programmes. "As you might realise, Mt Kenya region is primarily an agricultural oriented area and at this time farmers are busy picking tea, harvesting maize, looking after their dairy animals and picking coffee whose season has just began," he said. Speaking in Kirinyaga County, Kivuti said campaigns by CORDleaders will interrupt Standard Eight and Form Four candidates who are busy preparing for their examinations which are just around the corner. He said right from Kirinyaga, Embu, Tharaka/Nithi to Meru, leaders from the region and their people had already returned a No verdict on the matter and advised the proponents to take their campaigns elsewhere. Kivuti said the issues that CORDwas claiming merit a referendum could be easily handled through parliamentary legislation.Unfortunately the senator is forgeting is that kenya is a democratic country where each single citizen has got a right to vote and this right can't be denied based on the region one comes from.People from mount kenya region have got freedom of association just like any other kenyan and the decision to vote or not is an individuals choice and not a delegated function to any leader.

 1.Cereals – Get them in Nyamakima in that kichochoro for Molo matatus. Groundnuts from the market cost Sh190 per kilo, but at Nyamakima they are Sh110. You can also get apples and other fruits at a good price. 2.  Diapers and bar soap – OTC. The kichochoro between Tuskys and Equity.  3.
