Interesting things to know about the towel

How often do you wash your towel? Some people wash once a week, while some, once a year. The towel is a fertile breeding ground for millions of microbes, especially those found on human skin and on the gut.  No wonder the towel is one of the objects that facilitate fecal-oral contamination (literally connecting the two ends of the gut).  Worse still, most people keep towels in the bathroom (near the toilet). Every flush of the toilet sends mist with millions of microbes, ranging from H.pylori,  salmonella and other deadly bacteria and viruses. When you wash your hands ready for a meal, and dry them with your body towel, there's high chance you are directly ingesting your fecal matter, or, if in a shared lavatory, someone else's faeces. Former Presidential aspirant Abduba Dida appointed to the Constituency Development Fund.

35358-mohamed-dida3-200x1.jpg Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo has opposed the appointment of former Presidential aspirant Abduba Dida to the Constituency Development Fund. President sacked Ms Jennifer Nafula Barasa from the same position. The appointment flouts the CDF Act which stipulates the chair has to come from among the board members. “The President’s purported appointment of Dida to chair CDF Board shows scant respect for the law and we will oppose it strenuously.” For one to chair the CDF Board, Mr Gumbo said, he or she must be a board member nominated by one of the nominating bodies and be vetted by the relevant House team. “All board members must secure Parliamentary approval prior to gazettement. There’s no way our committee will allow such flouting of the law, far less letting a comedian chair such an important fund,” Mr Gumbo said. According to the CDF Act 2013: “The Cabinet Secretary shall appoint the Chairperson of the Board from amongst the four persons appointed in accordance with paragraph (d) of subsection (2). “The names and curriculum vitae of the persons nominated to be appointed as members of the Board pursuant to paragraph (d) of subsection (2) shall be submitted to Parliament for approval before appointments are made.”
